Green Chutney Adding Spice to Your Snacks

How would a samosa and tikki taste without a chutney. It would feel like mountains without trees, desert without sand, heart without a beat, youth without energy, river without water, sky without moon. It is combination of two that makes the recipe delicious, tasty and out of world. Without green Chutney the samosa and tikki recipe is incomplete.
So why wait, let us make green chutney now. It is very easy to make and tastes spicy. It is a little tangy and little sweet.


Ingredients for Green Chutney  Quantity

Chopped mint leaves (phudina) 2 cup
Chopped coriander (dhania) 1 cup
Green Chillies 5-6
Sliced Onion 1
Lemon juice 1-2 tbsp
Sugar 1 tbsp
Ginger ½ inch
Cumin Seeds 1tbsp
Salt as per taste

Directions to prepare Green Chutney

  • Blend mint leaves,Coriander leaves,onion,Green Chillies, cumin seeds, salt, sugar and ginger in a blender jar by adding little water.
  • Add lemon juice to this mixture and blend it again.Lemon juice will prevent discoloration of the green.Blend it well till it turns into a thin paste.
  • Green Chutney is a most preferred accompaniment.It can be refrigerated for almost a week.
